Yoga - Restorative Yoga - Restorative Yoga Restorative Yoga is a passive, gentle, soothing practice accessible by all. A meditative (Yin form) of yoga, practicing stillness & consciousness, that allows you to focus on your breath, while releasing tension in your mind & body, while fully supported in each pose. Via Pranayama (breath work) we will begin to move into the para-sympathetic mode (rest & digest mode), Moving towards the awareness of where we're holding on to tightness & tension, in our mind & body. Discovering how we can consciously let that tension go through a guided breath & meditation practice, while in various supported Asanas (poses). During the 60 min class, we will practice 5-6 various supported poses: (child pose, heart openers/backbends, hip openers, side body openers, twists, ending in Savasana (final relaxation pose). Holding each pose approximately 3-4 mins. All poses will be practiced while lying on the floor in supine (back body), prone (front body) & lateral (side body) positions, while being fully supported by yoga bolsters, blocks & blankets. This is a great alternative yoga practice for those that are feeling stressed, burned out & overwhelmed by the business of everyday life. Please note: Yoga bolsters, blocks & blankets are provided, but if you prefer, you can bring your own props as well. If using a bolster, please bring a "bath size" towel to place between you & the bolster. Please wear warm, non-restrictive comfortable clothing to enhance your practice.
