Experience one exhilarating hour of caloric-burning, heart-racing, muscle-pumping, body-energizing, awe-inspiring movements meant to engage and captivate for life! The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat. Add some Latin flavor and international zest into the mix and you've got ZUMBA – a fitness party! Why Zumba? 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM    Engineering for Kids - Digital Interface with Circuitry
Hardware Engineering:  Digital Interface with Circuitry (ages 8-12)In Hardware Engineering, students will use electronics, mechanics, and programming to create custom sensors.  They will become hardware engineers, using Scratch programming, Makey Makey circuit boards, and various building materials to design and test their creations.  Over the course of the class, we will make a whack-a-mole game, a personalized quiz board, and a device to determine the winner of a race.
 
5:00 PM - 6:00 PM    Karate and Adult Self Defense - Karate (Wednesday)
Karate - The benefits of karate instruction are endless!  Participants learn and develop all of the techniques for defense including: kicking, punching, blocking, grappling, and proper falls.  Offered at the Recreation Center for over 25 years, Sensei John McDonald helps his students learn discipline, respect, self control and gain confidence - all while getting a great workout!Adult Self Defense NEW - In this ever changing world, you need to be prepared to protect and defend yourself.  Participants will learn simple and effective defensive techniques which will keep you safe and build confidence.  This program teaches you to think in a safer way and have heightened awareness of your surroundings.  No previous training required.  Just wear gym clothes and bring your desire to learn how to defend yourself or a loved on.  Parents who have their child in Wednesday night Karate class can take this class at the same time.Instructor: John McDonald is currently a 4th degree black belt with vast years of experience. Participants tested for the appropriate level of training for Karate class.Need new equipment for class?  Support Parks and Rec and get your equipment here!

Hardware Engineering:  Digital Interface with Circuitry (ages 8-12)In Hardware Engineering, students will use electronics, mechanics, and programming to create custom sensors.  They will become hardware engineers, using Scratch programming, Makey Makey circuit boards, and various building materials to design and test their creations.  Over the course of the class, we will make a whack-a-mole game, a personalized quiz board, and a device to determine the winner of a race.

Hardware Engineering:  Digital Interface with Circuitry (ages 8-12)In Hardware Engineering, students will use electronics, mechanics, and programming to create custom sensors.  They will become hardware engineers, using Scratch programming, Makey Makey circuit boards, and various building materials to design and test their creations.  Over the course of the class, we will make a whack-a-mole game, a personalized quiz board, and a device to determine the winner of a race.

Hardware Engineering:  Digital Interface with Circuitry (ages 8-12)In Hardware Engineering, students will use electronics, mechanics, and programming to create custom sensors.  They will become hardware engineers, using Scratch programming, Makey Makey circuit boards, and various building materials to design and test their creations.  Over the course of the class, we will make a whack-a-mole game, a personalized quiz board, and a device to determine the winner of a race.

Are you new to Yoga?  This class is a beginner yoga class.  This calming stress-relieving yoga class teaches you how to stretch and strengthen the body gradually. Emphasis is on building awareness of the breath and the body. Poses are practiced at a slower pace with attention to alignment and detail.  Recommended for those newer to yoga or working with special concerns.  Perfect for the student looking for a gentle experience or those who need a change of pace. (ages 5 & up)Archery is a universal, lifetime sport...anyone can do it!  It builds upper body and core strength, along with balance and hand-eye coordination.  Archery develops strong problem-solving skills, focus, determination and patience!  "Exploring Archery" will introduce you to the sport of archery.  All equipment, including bows, arrows (safe tip), quivers, targets, safety netting and cones will be provided.  This 6-week program will help students practice precision and proper form, while promoting the joy and fulfillment that archery can bring!  Each week is a new and exciting lesson plan.  Students can develop at their own pace in a safe and fun environment!  Taught by certified, experienced instructors from Shooting Star Archery Academy.Safety Protocols and Procedures1.  Each participant will get a bow and 3 arrows to be used during class, which will be the same bow they use for each day2.  Bow and arrows will be sanitized after each class3.  Masks are not required, but is recommended4.  Participants will keep social distance5.  Instructors will wear a mask up close if social distance cannot be maintained6.  Participants should bring a water bottle and wear closed toed shoes.
