Yoga and Art Virtual June Workshops

Tot Yoga and Art Class (18 months to 3 years) 30 min. 
This virtual class is developmentally supportive, interactive and fun-loving. It’s all about your child as we sing songs, and explore new movements with yoga poses and games. For tot and caregiver- no previous yoga experience required! This special class is rainbow themed- we will make rainbows with our bodies, learn colors and create a rainbow-themed craft. Craft: rainbow windsock
Supplies: Paper towel or paper roll, tissue paper or construction paper and crayons. 

 
Preschool and Pre-K Yoga and Art Class (ages 3-5)  40 min. 
Join us virtually for a special children's ArtYoga class. We’ll mix our little yogi's natural love of movement and creativity to make yoga-inspired crafts after a fun-filled kids yoga class. Using supplies from home we will make a sun and rainbow craft to reinforce our sunny class. At home craft: sun and rainbow craft Supplies: paper plate or paper; streamers, tissue paper or construction paper; scissors, glue
 
Elementary age Yoga and Art Class (6-10 years old) 40 min. 
This class gets kids moving with games and stories, teaching a love of yoga movements, mindfulness and breathing. A fun and interactive yoga class will be followed up by instructional craft time reinforcing positive affirmations. Speaking positively about ourselves builds social and emotional intelligence and resilience! At home craft: Positive affirmations fortune teller
Supplies: paper, scissors, pen/pencil/marker

 
Tween Yoga and Art (10-13 years old) 40 min
This class gets kids moving with games and challenges, teaching a love of yoga movements, mindfulness and breathing. A fun and interactive yoga class will be followed up by instructional art time. Craft: Learn to draw cartoon dogs in different yoga poses.
Supplies: paper, pen/pencil/marker

 
Instructor:  Anita Thompson
Anita wanted to be an Artist since the age of 5. Her love of drawing led her to continue drawing courses in school and in private lessons, starting at age 12. She majored in art in college with a focus on painting and illustration, and received her BFA at Rowan University in the year 2000. Anita focused on her love of illustrating children’s books, and became a published Illustrator with 4 children’s books from two independent publishers. A new creative opportunity opened up, and she began teaching art workshops to children, teens, and adults in Libraries throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
 
Instructor:  Kate Wilcox
Kate is a 200-hour RYT and a certified Yoga and Mindfulness in Children instructor. She has practiced yoga since she was 15 years old and the postures, breathing and meditation of yoga have taken her through every stage of her life.   Kate’s experience as a dancer, mother, writer and yogi helps others learn to center themselves and reap the benefits of living a balanced and connected life. Her goal is to bring peace and strength to families on and off the mat.
