Children's Hearing and Vision Screenings

As a service to the community, the Northampton Township Lions Club, along with trained staff, will have access to state-of-the-art equipment to screen potential vision and hearing deficiencies for children. Screenings are quick and easy and provide data for follow up with your physician, if needed.
You will be contacted by 1 week prior to schedule your time slot. Appointment times will be scheduled in 7 minute increments. Once time slots are full, a waiting list will be taken should any time slots open up. A signed waiver from a parent will be required for a child to participate in the screenings. SPOT VISION SCREENER: Spot is a handheld, wireless device that enables efficient vision screening with point and shoot technology with reliable, consistent results. One-page screening result certificate encourages follow-up care. Spot provides a reliable, objective assessment and instantly detects the indication of six major issues:
Hyperoppia: farsightedness
Myopia: nearsightedness
Astigmatism: blurred vision
Anisometropia: unequal refraction
Gaze: eye alignment measures
Anisocoria: unequal pupil size
Spot's unique binocular screening for amblyopic precursors (anisometropia/eye misalignment) makes it the ideal tool for early intervention programs targeted at special needs, pre-verbal, and pre-school children.
MAICO ERO SCAN Hearing Screen: Test both ears in less than a minute. Testing takes less than 30 seconds per ear, with results displayed as Pass or Refer. No response is required from the child.
Detect late-onset hearing loss
Differentiate possible cochlear versus retro-cochlear pathology
Identify suspected malingering or non-pathological hearing loss
