In response to multiple requests, Northampton Parks & Rec is pleased to offer our third season of Adult Swim Lessons! This program is for participants, 18 years of age and older, who have little to no experience swimming or who are uncomfortable in the water. Classes are scheduled early morning, prior to the swim club opening to increase privacy and comfort level of participants. It is designed to help develop safe swimming habits and skills including comfort with entry, submersion, floating, and breathing techniques. In addition, there the most basic swimming strokes, Freestyle and Backstroke will be introduced. The goal is to help participants gain the confidence and knowledge necessary for swimming safely in a pool.
The instructor, Tori Hall, has been coaching/teaching all levels of swim for over 10 years and is currently a USA Certified Swimming Coach as well as an American Red Cross certified Lifeguard Instructor. She is also a full time Special Education teacher in a nearby school district. This course will be paced according to the class skill level as a whole. Instruction will include verbal explanations and in water demonstrations.
Every effort will be made to reschedule classes cancelled due to weather during the current swim season which ends 8/30. If classes cannot be re-scheduled, account credit will be issued. No refunds for missed or re-scheduled classes. Sign up for Tuesdays or Thursdays, or both!
Unable to participate in the mornings? Call the Swim Club between noon and 8 pm Monday through Friday to schedule private swim lessons! Learn how to love the water and enjoy your summers stress free!
